U.S. Coast Guard Discovers 65 Dead Sharks Off Texas Coast

(KCEN) -- A gruesome discovery was made along the Texas coast.

U.S. Coast Guard crews found 65 dead sharks in an illegal net on Monday.

The decomposing sharks were caught in a gill net.

Its often referred to as the "wall of death," because its used in catching and killing fish.

The U.S. Coast Guard suspect it was left behind by Mexican fisherman illegally poaching in U.S. waters.

The U.S. Coast Guard says it has seized 28 fishing vessels, compelled 34 back into Mexican waters and retrieved more than 12 nautical miles of illegal fishing gear since October 2013.
