Rodeo Kicks Off Belton 4th of July Weekend

Posted: Updated:

(KCEN) -- 4th of July weekend kicks off on Thursday night in Belton. The PRCA rodeo will have three days of bull riding action, but they're adding a special touch to opening night by appreciating the military.

All active duty military members will get in for free with a current ID and their families will get a discount.

Rodeo clown "Rocket" Ryan Litwin says Belton is a stop they all look forward to every year. "This is a great place to be over the 4th of July," Litwin said. "Air conditioned building, one of the greatest parades in the country and just a lot of fun. So we all come together like a big group of friends."

Other events at the rodeo include calf roping, barrel racing and the All American Cowgirl Chicks, an equestrian specialty show. The rodeo is from 7:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. It runs from Thursday, July 3 through Saturday, July 5.
