(KCEN) -- A search was underway on Wednesday morning for a possible drowning victim at Leona Park in Temple. On Wednesday morning around 9:22 a.m., someone flagged down a deputy saying a boat was doing circles with nobody driving it on Belton Lake. The person said that the boat was on the lake about a quarter mile north of the long bridge.

The boat was recovered, but police did not find anyone who may have been driving the boat. Police say the boat has Arkansas registration as well as a truck that was found near the boat ramp.

Bell County Sheriff's Department says that a witness watched the driver of the boat fall into the water.

Clothing was found floating in the water nearby.

Morgan's Point Dive Team is searching the lake where the person fell in. A helicopter is doing aerial searches of the lake.

Moffat Fire Department, one of first responders, was called off the search. Police say that this is now a recovery mission.

We have a crew at the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available. Please keep refreshing the page for new information.
