Corsicana firefighter killed in one-vehicle wreck, twin sons injured

DAWSON (KYTX) – An off-duty Corsicana firefighter was killed and his two 11-year-old sons were injured in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday night in Navarro County.

Navarro County Justice of the Peace Pct. 3 Jackie Freeland tells CBS19 that 46-year-old Louis Lachney was pronounced dead at scene at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday.

Lachney who had been with the Corsicana fire department for the past 12 years was recently promoted to Leuitent.

Lachney’s twin sons who were ejected from the vehicle were airlifted to Children's Medical Center in Dallas and are expected to recover from their injuries, according to Judge Freeland.

Texas DPS reports Lachney lost control of his car in a curve on FM 709, two miles north of Dawson.

The fatal wreck was reported around 11:27 p.m. Tuesday.
