One Person Found Dead In Central Texas House Fire

 (KAGS) -- One person is dead after being found inside a burning College Station home. The incident happened at the 1100 block of Eagle Avenue just before 5:30 a.m. Thursday morning.

According to College Station officials, fire departments responded to a report of smoke coming from the residence. The first fire unit made it to the home, and noticed smoke coming from the second floor of the two-story single-family residence.

As crews were searching the home and extinguishing the fire, a person was found deceased in the second floor of the home.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the College Station Fire Marshal's Office, with the assistance from the College Station Police Department. The identity of the person is being withheld pending notification of family.
