Foster Farms has been notified of one illness associated with its products. While Vons is not aware of illnesses associated with these products purchased from our stores, out of an abundance of caution, we are asking customers to check their freezers for the products listed above.
Salmonella is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis.
Customers who purchased these products should discard them or return them for a full refund. For more information, customers can call 1-866-SAFEWAY 24 hours a day.
