UPDATE: KILGORE (KYTX)- Friday, July 18, 22-year-old Shelby Taylor made bond.

Taylor had three charges of intoxication manslaughter, each bond was $250,000 totaling $750,000.

Taylor was released on bond, Rusk County Jail tells CBS 19.

KILGORE (KYTX) - The Henderson woman jailed in connection with a fatal wreck that claimed the lives of three Central Texas family members was formally charged Tuesday with a third intoxication manslaughter charge.

22-year-old Shelby Taylor is jailed on bonds totaling $750,000.

DPS reports Taylor was traveling in the wrong lane when she struck the Patel family's a minivan. Two children riding in the van, 5-year-old Ryera Patel and his sister, 12-year-old Trish Patel died at the scene of the accident. The child's mother 43-year-old Heena Patel died of her injuries several days later after she was declared brain dead.

Taylor has been arrested on previous charges, including a DWI charge October 2013 and assault in 2010.

KILGORE (KYTX)- A driver has been arrested on two counts of intoxication manslaughter after a deadly wreck in Kilgore. CBS 19's Kevin Boyce reports there are lessons to be learned for every parents.

According to DPS spokeswoman Jean Dark, a family was riding north on 259 about 1:30 a.m., when a Ford F-350, driven by 22-year -old Shelby Taylor began barreling towards it on the wrong side. The minivan was unable to move out of the way in time.

"The driver of the van says he tried to slow down and swerve to the left to avoid the truck," says trooper dark. "However the truck swerved to the right, and the vehicles ended up colliding "

She says 5-year-old Ryera Patel and 12-year-old Trish Patel were sleeping in the backseat, with their safety belts unbuckled, when the two vehicles collided. The children died instantly.

Trooper Dark says this is a lesson for all parents. Even while your kids sleep on a road trip, keep them in a car seat or keep them buckled up.

"You are required to follow that law, no matter who you are," says Trooper Dark.

The wreck just north of the Gregg/Rusk county line seriously injured the childrens' mother.

Heena Patel, and father Ketanbhai Patel were both sent to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. The father has been released, but the mom remains in critical condition.

Taylor and her passenger have already been treated and released.

"It's difficult for an officer to work these, especially those with children," says Trooper Dark.

Taylor is in Rusk County Jail.

Texas DPS says the Patel family is from Caldwell, Texas and was simply traveling through East Texas.
