Update: Reward offered for information in deadly pedestrian accident in Tyler

UPDATE: (KYTX) - Tyler Smith County Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of the suspect who is responsible for striking Kenneth Jones and leaving the scene of the accident.  You must call 903-597-CUFF or 903-597-2833 to be eligible for the reward.  

The Tyler Police Department is continuing to investigate this Fatality Pedestrian accident which occurred on July 15, 2014, near the intersection of Van Highway and Loop 323.

Investigators are seeking information on the vehicle and driver who struck and killed Kenneth Linnel Jones.  Investigators recovered debris at the accident scene from the suspect vehicle, and believe it to be an unknown model Chevrolet. 

Anyone with information about the driver involved in this incident is urged to contact Tyler Smith County Crime Stoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).  

UPDATE: (KYTX)- Tyler police have identified the man killed Monday night in a hit-and-run accident in the 1700 block of NNW Loop 323.

He is identified as 23-year-old Kenneth Linnel Jones Jr. of Tyler.

Investigators are still seeking information on the vehicle and driver who struck Jones.

Anyone with information about the driver involved in this incident is urged to contact the Tyler Police Department, at 903-531-1000, or Crimestoppers at 903-597-CUFF (903-597-2833).

It happened just before 10:30 Monday night in the 1700 block of North Northwest Loop 323.

Police say Jones was crossing the loop, but he was not in a crosswalk. As he was crossing, a vehicle hit him. The vehicle kept driving southbound on the Loop.

Jones died at the scene.
