Dr. DuVall, born in Wyoming, was raised in Corrigan, Texas. He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in Biology from Lamar University. While at Lamar, he was inducted into the Blue Key National Honor Society. Dr. DuVall received his Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1990 and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor in 1993.

Dr. DuVall completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and then went on to the Wellsley Hospital in Toronto where he trained in Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, Endoscopic Oncology, and Endoscopic Ultrasonography. While in Toronto, he was involved in developing Laser Induced Flourescence Endoscopy for the detection of early gastrointestinal malignancies. He also was involved in the first trials of Photodynamic Therapy for esophageal cancer. While in Toronto, he specialized in treatment of pancreatic and biliary diseases utilizing the latest developments in endoscopic sonography and therapeutic endoscopy.

After fellowship, Dr. DuVall entered clinical practice in 1997. He is a member of the Texas Medical Association, Smith County Medical Association, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, and Texas Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. His clinical interests include Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy, Pancreatic and Biliary diseases, and Endoscopic Ultrasound. He is the only gastroenterologist in East Texas performing Photodynamic Therapy for treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and Barrett's esophagus with high grade dysplasia. He continues to pursue emerging endoscopic therapies including stricturoplasty for refractory esophageal strictures, endoscopic zenkers diverticulum therapy, and endoscopic stent therapy.

Dr. DuVall is married to wife Jean, and together have three children Tyler, Grant, and Samantha. The DuValls are active in their local church. In his spare time he enjoys the great outdoors of Texas through ranching, hunting, and fishing.
