TYLER, Texas — The American Rescue Plan is here- officially.

Some key things to know about this act are it makes unemployment benefits nontaxable. It will also include a child tax credit of up to 3,600 dollars per child under the age of 18.

Bobby Mims, an attorney with Boren and Mims, PLLC, is encouraged by the fact that this money is targeted towards the working class 

“You give a man $100 that’s broke, and he's gonna spend it. You give a millionaire a million dollars, he ain't gonna spend it,” he said. “It's not a handout, in my opinion, it's a hand up.”
