Tashara Travels: East Texas Zoo and Gator Park

Tashara Parker visits the East Texas Zoo and Gator Park for a look at dozens of exotic species available for viewing right here in East Texas.

GRAND SALINE, Texas – For Miguel Rocha and Justin Scoggins, the East Texas Zoo and Gator Park has become one of their greatest investments.

The two became owners of the Grand Saline park last December.

For this week’s “Tashara Travels” segment, we got up close and personal with dozens of species at the park, including a Sloth bear, a lemur and a host of other animals.

Rocha says he wants people who visit the park to walk away with something more than just an experience.

“I hope they expand their knowledge,” he said. “That wild life, for different reasons are losing their habitats in the wild."

According to the company’s website, they have primates big and small, as well as exotic cats, lemurs, birds, and all sorts of other critters.

Their lobby is full of fish, snakes, turtles, lizards, and ferrets.

Aside from the plethora of animals at the park, one of their main attractions is watching zookeepers feed the alligators.

The feedings are what they’re known for at the park.

If you’d like to visit the park or would like more information, you can visit their website here.
