UPDATE: Outdoor burning to blame for structure fire in Chapel Hill

A huge structure fire is threatening homes in Chapel Hill.

UPDATE: According to the Smith County Fire Marshall Office Facebook page, four Smith County fire departments responded to a house fire that was caused by an outdoor burning that got out of control.

Fire departments included Chapel Hill, Arp, Jackson Heights and Whitehouse.

No one was home at the time of the fire and the home was a complete loss

According to Connie Wasson, Smith County Fire Marshal Connie Wasson, crews are battling a major structure fire in Chapel Hill.

The 800-900 ft structure on Tuscan Oaks is fully involved, and is threatening surrounding homes. Crews are also battling a grass fire ignited by the flames.

The wood-framed structure was well back from the road and seems to have been completely destroyed.
