Ashley French joined the CBS19 team as a multi-skilled journalist in July 2021.
She is a South Florida native who later moved to Louisiana to attend college. She graduated from Northwestern State University with a B.A. in Communications in 2018. While attending Northwestern State, she was an active member of the university's TV program serving as a student news anchor and hosting a weekly program on the campus radio station KNWD.
Ashley began her career at the award-winning KNOE 8 News Station in Monroe, Louisiana. As an associate producer/editor, she worked with the news department and production to help put together an excellent nightly newscast.
When choosing a career, Ashley always knew she wanted to be a journalist from an early age. She strongly believes our voice is the greatest asset we have been given. She has a passion for listening to and sharing the stories of others. Ashley is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. She is also an animal lover. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading and traveling.
