Born and raised in Dallas, Channing graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor's of Arts degree in broadcast journalism. While in college, she worked as the sports director for the on campus radio station, KNTU 88.1 FM.
After graduation, she covered DFW high school sports with Radio One, Fox Sports and was the host of her own show, The Home Team DFW. Channing recently graduated from Boston University with her Master's of Science degree in broadcast journalism.

During her final year at BU, Channing served as a news apprentice for WBZ (CBS Boston) where she produced daily web updates and wrote for the mid-day and evening shows.
Before coming to CBS19, she was the anchor for Good Morning Basin and Big 2 News at 11 on KMID in Odessa.
Channing is no stranger to East Texas.
Her mother grew up in Atlanta, her grandmother taught at Tyler High School and her grandfather was a band director at Big Sandy High School. Her family has their annual reunion in Lindale and she still considers Miles Chapel CME her home church.
While not reporting the news, Channing enjoys watching football (Go Cowboys!), reading the classics and exploring all East Texas has to offer.
