José Alonzo joined the CBS19 team as a multi-skilled journalist in January 2022.
José is a South Texas native who grew up in Uvalde and Corpus Christi. After graduating with an associate degree from Southwest Texas Junior College, he took it a step further and earned two associate degrees at Del Mar College in liberal arts and journalism. He then attended the University of North Texas and graduated with a B.A. in Converged Broadcast Media.
José has a lot of experience from volunteering as an anchor/reporter at North Texas Television, being a production intern at Gracepoint Media, associate editor at Foghorn News and interning at Uvalde Leader-News.
He’s also a sports fan who supports the San Francisco 49ers, the San Antonio Spurs and loves to watch the Williams sisters dominate the tennis courts.
CBS19 is his first job in broadcast and he looks forward to getting in touch with the East Texas community. Want to connect with José about a story? Email him at JAlonzo@cbs19.tv or follow him on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
