TYLER, Texas — The Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary facility welcomed three, 4-month-old tiger cubs.
"Our new friends are Ava, Eloise, and Rosie," Tim Gano, Tiger Creek's Director of Animal Care, said. "They are cubs that used to be used as a photo opportunity, and then they just outgrew that. So, they needed to find homes. So they came here to spend their lives with us."
The cubs arrived at the facility a few weeks ago. All three are female Bengal tigers, the second largest tiger species.
"They can be anywhere from about 300 to 350 pounds," Gano said. "So, they're going to be be pretty big girls."
Ava, Eloise and Rosie are still in the off-exhibit area as the sanctuary is getting their exhibit ready to become their forever home.
You might be able to catch a glimpse of them Saturday during the Tiger Creek Animal Sanctuary's World Tiger and Lion Day. The even kicks off at 10 a.m.
