How to use your stimulus debit card

If you received a debit card with your federal stimulus money on it, you may have some questions on how to use it.

TYLER, Texas — If you received a debit card with your federal stimulus money on it, you may have some questions on how to use it.

First things first: When you get your card, call Money Network Financial. That is the company that issued the card at the 1-800 number on the back, and set up your four digit PIN.

Once you get that done and you sign it, you're good to start using it.

It is easy enough to use the card at stores or for online shopping, but what if you want to take money off of the card? You have a few options.

You can withdraw money from an ATM, but keep in mind you can only withdraw $1,000 per day. You can go into a bank and get cash there as well, but that is limited to $2,500 per day.

With both of those options, the bank may charge fees to get that money. We recommend going to a bank you have an account with to try to avoid any additional fees.

A third option is to get cash back from participating stores, like grocery and convenience stores. You can get up to $2,500 per day, though the store itself may have a limit as well. You can also transfer the funds to your bank account. The daily maximum for that is $2,500. To start that process, call Money Network, or go to their website at EIPCard.com.

If you accidentally threw out the debit card, you may be able to get a replacement card by calling them at 1-800-240-8100.
