DPS identifies 3 killed in fiery Wednesday afternoon wreck on Toll 49

TYLER, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified three victims who died following a Wednesday afternoon wreck on Toll 49 in Smith County.

Around 12:30 p.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Toll 49, about four miles southwest of Lindale.

The preliminary crash investigation revealed the driver of a SUV, identified as Barbara Busch Beagle, 62, of Tyler, was traveling south on Toll 49 when, for an unknown reason, she traveled into the northbound lane of traffic where her vehicle struck a van driven by Kendrick Lamone Hartsfield, 41, of Tyler. Both vehicles then caught fire.

Beagle and Hartsfield were pronounced dead at the scene, along with a passenger in Beagle's vehicle, identified as Kei Lei Harding, 34, of Tyler. 

The crash remains under investigation.
