ATHENS, Texas — A benefit account has been set up at an East Texas bank to assist the families of the juvenile victims involved in the recent Athens Independent School District bus crash.

First State Bank in Athens has created the account for cousins Christopher Bonilla, 13, who was killed in the crash, and Joselyne Torres, 9, who was seriously injured and flown to a Dallas hospital. She has since been released from the ICU, but is still in the DFW-area medical center for treatment.

To donate to the account, please contact the bank at (903) 676-1900. You can visit the location at 130 East Corsicana Street in Athens.

Funeral services for Bonilla will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 1, in the Athens High School gymnasium. School for that day has been canceled.
