One person is recovering from a stab wound and two suspects are in jail after a botched home invasion attempt on July 28.

Police say two suspects, Steven Williams and Robert Blackshear, both 19 years old, forcibly entered a home on Mobberly Avenue around 4 a.m. on July 28. Juan Richardson was stabbed in the back during the attempted robbery and taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Williams and Blackshear fled the scene before officers arrived and were on their way to the hospital when they wrecked at the intersection of Methvin Street and Fifth Street. They were taken into custody, then to the hospital.

Soon after, the suspects were checked out and released to the authorities. They are now in the Gregg County Jail, each charged with 1st degree felony for burglary of a residence and each on a $50,000 bond.
