HARRISON COUNTY, Texas — A mother and her boyfriend were indicted in the death of a young child in September.
According to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office, on September 17 at about 11:54 p.m., authorities and EMS responded to a call of a 5-year-old having trouble breathing and having a seizure on American Plant Road.
Harrison County says the child's mother, Danielle Faulkner, and her boyfriend, Larry Prudhomme, told deputies that the child fell off the porch while taking out the trash.
The child was transported to the hospital immediately. While being treated, bruises were seen all over his body. EMS believed the "extreme" amount of bruising was not consistent with the falling.
EMS transported the child to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport. The child died on September 20, as a result of his injuries.
Both Faulkerner and Prudhomme were arrested on charges of causing serious bodily injury to a child and held on a $1 million bond.
This week, a Harrison County grand jury indicted Prudhomme for murder. Faulkner was indicted for injury to a child causing serious bodily injury.
The couple each faces between five and 99 years in prison.
Both remain in the Harrison County Jail.
