RICHMOND, Texas - A standoff at a Buc-ee’s in Richmond ended peacefully Saturday afternoon.

No one was arrested at the scene, but police said charges will be filed later for a driver who evaded arrest.

The Sugar Land Police Department said an off-duty Eagle Lake police officer called 911 after he said he was involved in a road rage incident in downtown Houston.

The officer, who was still in uniform, followed the other driver to the Buc-ee’s in the 1200 block of Crabb River Road because the driver allegedly pointed a gun at him.

The driver refused to get out of the car when police showed up. There was a woman and two children in the car with the driver, but both were able to get out safely.

Sugar Land police along with deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to this scene. The Houston Police Department also responded because the road rage incident happened in the city.

The off-duty officer is not filing charges against the driver.

This is a developing story.
