RUSK COUNTY, Texas — Troopers responded to a two vehicle fatal crash in Rusk County, on Friday, January 11, at about 7 a.m.
The wreck took place on US 79, ten miles south of Henderson city.
According to the Department of Public Safety, driver Adrian Roland, 48, of Jacksonville was traveling northeast on US-79. He was driving a Peterbilt truck, towing a semi trailer.
The driver of a Ford Taurus, Lajuan Rice, 65, of Henderson, was stopped northbound on FM-1798.
Rice attempted to cross US-79 onto SH-42. He traveled into the path of the truck and was struck.
The DPS say Rice was pronounced dead at the scene. Rice was transported to Autry Funeral Home in Jacksonville.
The driver of the truck, Roland, was not injured.
