As of Wednesday, Jan. 20 at 6 p.m., 57,076 people have contracted COVID-19 in East Texas since the pandemic began.
Of that total number, 30,286 patients have recovered and 1,633 patients have died from coronavirus-related complications.
EDITOR'S NOTE: Some counties are not reporting recoveries or are reporting them irregularly. This could also be due to people who test positive not retesting to show they're negative for COVID-19 after they recover.
