According to the Lufkin Police Department, Kristopher Montalvo, a 29-year-old Zavalla native, was arrested on Nov. 30 in connection with the Nov. 21 robbery of BancorpSouth.
Montalvo was already in jail on a parole warrant after authorities received a call about him wearing a pair of white latex gloves and acting strangely in the Walgreens on Frank Avenue on Nov. 30. The arresting officer noticed that Montalvo looked like the suspect in the BancorpSouth surveillance video and alerted the detective handling the case.
The detective met with Montalvo the next day, and according to police, Montalvo confessed to the bank robbery, claiming he was on drugs and had trouble recalling most of the incident in which he entered a bank and slid the teller a note claiming he had a gun and demanding money.
Police say Montalvo did not show a weapon during the robbery.
Montalvo is charged with second-degree-felony robbery.
There was also a warrant out for his arrest in Jasper for criminal mischief.
