2 pedestrians injured after hit-and-run in Tyler; Police seeking driver responsible

TYLER, Texas — Two people were injured and police are searching for the driver responsible following a hit-and-run on Tuesday.

According to the Tyler Police Department, officers responded to the parking lot of Broadway Square Mall on reports of two pedestrians being hit in a parking lot. 

Police say Alejandra Duarte-Valle, 35, and Jose Lopez-Perez, 27, both of Longview, were walking in the parking lot of JC Penney when they were struck by a vehicle. Witnesses say they saw a silver sedan speeding out of the parking lot following the incident.

 Duarte-Valle and Lopez-Perez were taken to a Tyler hospital. 

As of Friday, Duarte-Valle has been released from the hospital but Lopez-Perez remains in critical condition.
