Three Bullard High School students celebrated their graduation from PRIDE Academy during the school's inaugural Pride Commencement ceremony on Saturday at the Audry B. Owens Auditorium.

Hunter Garcia, Laisha Magdaleno and Emily Pinson all earned their diplomas as a part of the PRIDE Academy, an alternative learning campus initiated by Bullard ISD in the fall of 2017.

Many students who attend the school deal with special challenges or circumstances.

"To see that hard work represented by three diplomas only four months after the establishment of this program is remarkable,” said Donna Jeffus, Coordinator of Alternative Education and CTE.

According to Bullard ISD, Pinson will attend the University of North Texas in January 2018, Magdaleno plans on continuing her studies in Health Science that she began with the BHS HOSA program and Garcia plans to join the work force.
