Alto voters approve $10.5 million bond for school district

ALTO, Texas — Alto voters have approved a bond for the Alto ISD.

The expected $10.5 million from the bond will help pay for a number of projects proposed by the district. 

Among the projects that will be funded by the district includes a new gym for the high school and new buses for the entire district.

According to the district, the plan for the bond will follow this timeline:
• February 2020 – Bonds Sell
• Spring 2020 – Designs Developed/Approved
• May/June 2020 – Construction Begins
• August 2021 – Complex Complete

The district released a statement on social media, saying in part:

"It is truly an honor and a privilege to be a part of the Alto ISD. Our community has a history of coming together in support of our children and our schools! The Board of Trustees and I pledge to work diligently in the coming months to be good stewards of the funds that you, the voters, have entrusted to us. Your continued commitment to our school district is appreciated and valued as we all work together to prepare all of our students for success."
