2 young South Texas girls at center of Amber Alert found safe

Cassandra Alvarez, a 27-year-old Hispanic woman, is accused of abducting the girls, according to the Amber Alert.

DILLEY, Texas — Two young South Texas girls who were reported abducted and were believed to have been in danger earlier Saturday have been found safe.

According to the Amber Alert, the Dilley Police Department was searching for 8-year-old Maya and 6-year-old Bea Borrego who were reported missing Saturday. Cassandra Alvarez, 27, was accused of abducting the girls. 

In an update, officials said both girls were found safe and the Amber Alert was discontinued.
