HENDERSON COUNTY — Rodney Soloman, a 52-year-old Mineola man, was arrested during a traffic stop at around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the Briarwood Bay subdivision of Coffee City after drugs were found near his vehicle.

According to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, deputies noticed Solomon committing a traffic violation when they stopped him and found out he had several drug arrests.

Deputies then found a pill bottle close to the vehicle with a broken glass pipe in it.

Another empty pill bottle was discovered inside the vehicle, and eventually, Soloman admitted that he tried to get rid of the first bottle with the pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.

The sheriff said that while deputies were searching him, they found a white, crystal-like material that they believe to be methamphetamine in a plastic wrapper in his pocket.

Authorities impounded Solomon's vehicle, he was taken to jail and charged with possession of contraband.
