Discovery Science Place closed the week of March 16-20

The museum will be open this weekend, March 14-15, normal hours.

In light of concerns related to the recent coronavirus (COVID-19), and based on the advice of local, state, national health officials, and other medical experts, the Discovery Science Place in Tyler is closing to the public next week from March 16-20.

 "As a children's science museum, we take great care to ensure the cleanliness of our space and train our staff on the practices and procedures that lead to healthy and happy communities—today and every day," Executive Director Chris Rasure said.

They will also take this opportunity to comprehensively clean surfaces, spaces, and manipulatives at the museum. 

The museum will be open this weekend, March 14-15, normal hours and will continue to employ enhanced cleaning and sanitation measures).

The museum hopes to reopen for business Saturday, March 21, although they will re-assess as circumstances dictate.
