OMAHA, Texas — Pewitt Consolidated Independent School District (Pewitt CISD) has announced they are now canceling classes for the entire district for the remainder of the week due to illnesses.
"Please stay home, rest and be ready to return to school on Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, on a normal bell schedule," the district wrote in a statement.
Gary ISD also announced Monday they were closing campuses for the rest of the week after an increase in COVID-19 cases. Students will continue to learn remotely with online and paper enrichment activities.
Promise Academy in Tyler will also cancel classes this week due to an uptick in illnesses.
