Family and friends are hosting an event with prizes, face painting, food, music and a Jeep show.

This is to help Bonnie Gomer pay for medical expenses.

Gomer was diagnosed with a brain tumor in March and underwent surgery in April to have it removed.

She has been struggling to recover.

“It shows the power of prayer and how strong we stick together to help one another,” Gomer’s cousin Brian Westbrook said. “We came together to help Bonnie.”

Before her surgery, Gomer received a degree in Psychology from the University of Texas and was working on her masters at Letourneau University in Behavioral Psychology.

Loved ones are hopeful that she will recover and continue to pursue her dreams.
