POLICE: Driver who killed motorcyclist in Tyler hit-and-run surrenders to authorities

Officials said Jeremy Cisneros turned himself in to the Smith County Jail where he was booked for causing serious bodily injury or death with a $75,000 bond.

TYLER, Texas — A driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run that killed a motorcyclist Tuesday afternoon has turned himself in to authorities Wednesday evening in Tyler. 

According to Tyler Police spokesperson Andy Erbaugh, Jeremy Cisneros turned himself in to the Smith County Jail where he was booked on a warrant for accident causing serious bodily injury or death with a $75,000 bond. 

Officials responded to a crash Tuesday afternoon, involving a pick-up truck and motorcycle at State Highway 31 and Patton Lane.

Cisneros was driving the truck and turned onto HWY 31 from Patton Ln. in the path of a motorcyclist that was traveling west on Highway 31, officials said.

Cisneros left the area after the crash and was later found and interviewed by detectives, officials said. 

Officials identified the motorcyclist as Charles Main, 55, from Chandler. 

The investigation is ongoing and CBS19 will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
