A Florida woman was killed on Friday when the vehicle she was in was struck by an 18-wheeler.

The crash happened at 2:32 p.m. on May 25 in the westbound lanes of the interstates, about 10 miles east of Lindale, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

A 2017 Nissan Altima, driven by Victor Leonard Watson, 59, of Pensacola, Florida was traveling west on I-20 in the left lane while a 2016 International truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, driven by Wayne Maxwell Combee, 64, of Lakeland, Florida, was traveling west in the right lane.

Watson failed to drive in a single lane, traveling partially off the left side of the roadway before over correcting to the right across the left and right eastbound lanes, according to a preliminary DPS crash report.

The truck tractor struck the Altima in the right lane of I-20.

Watson was transported to UT Health Tyler, where he was listed in stable condition as of Saturday.

A passenger in the vehicle, Frank Watson, 62, of Tampa Florida, was also transported to UT Health Tyler, where he was listed in critical condition.

Another passenger, Darla McCloud Watson, 62, of Tampa, Florida, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body transported to Hillard Funeral Home in Van.

Combee was not injured in the crash, according to DPS.
