Friday through Sunday, shoppers will not have to pay taxes on school supplies, or clothes and shoes priced under $100.
“You’ll save approximately $8 for every $100 you spend,” said Candace Foster, the marketing director at Broadway Square Mall.
The tax exemption is not just limited to children’s clothes. “We know some college students go back later in life and so anywhere from kids to adult sizes, they are all tax free,” said Foster.
Aside from saving some cash on sales tax, Foster says many stores will have additional sales going on.
“The savings are really great, especially when you start adding up everything you can save,” said Foster. “You can really save a lot of money for Tax Free Weekend.”
To accommodate shoppers, Broadway Square Mall is extending its hours throughout the weekend, but if you want to avoid big crowds, make sure to get there early.
