SAN AUGUSTINE COUNTY — Kane, a K-9 officer from the San Augustine County Sheriff's Department, sniffed up about 250 pounds of marijuana on Thursday on Highway 96 North.
He was called out to help a DPS Highway Patrol Trooper during a traffic stop.
According to a post on the department's Facebook page, Kane found the drugs in the cab of a Western Star trailer from Arkansas.
Christopher Metz, a 47-year-old Little Rock native, was arrested for having over 50 pounds of marijuana and taken to the San Augustine County Jail.
Authorities are still investigating this case.
