HENDERSON COUNTY — Five Henderson County residents were arrested Wednesday night in a large-scale drug raid.

“It was a busy night for our entire office,” Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said. “Our execution of probable cause search warrants began just after dinner time and ran until just before midnight.”

According to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office, authorities arrested two people for possession of methamphetamines, two for outstanding warrants and one for parole violations.

The first person arrested was 47-year-old Chad Lawyer at a home on County Road 1405, just west of Athens. The sheriff's office says authorities found contraband and drug paraphernalia at the residence.

Kristy Dodd, 39, was also arrested in Athens. She had an outstanding warrant for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Keely McKinney, 20, was arrested in Edgewood for an outstanding theft warrant. Kevin Tate, 34, of Murchison was arrested at the same residence for a parole violation.

Authorities then took the operation to the Woodwilks Subdivision of Gun Barrel City. They arrested 63-year-old Raymond Kirbie on Red Robin for possession of meth and tampering with physical evidence.

The sheriff's office says Kirbie confessed to flushing some of the drugs down the toilet when deputies arrived. Deputies also found drug paraphernalia at the residence.

The operation was a joint effort by Henderson County narcotics investigations, the Henderson County Constable Precinct 5 Brad Miers and deputies with the sheriff's department.

District Judge Scott McKee signed all of the warrants.
