A Henderson County jailer was fired after he was accused of sexually assaulting a female inmate, according to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.
According to Sheriff Botie Hillhouse, Rashaan Miller, 22, from Athens was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Henderson County Jail for sexual assault.
On Tuesday, Feb. 11 the inmate informed another Henderson County Detention Officer that she had been assaulted by Miller.
Sheriff Hillhouse immediately called the Texas Rangers and the Henderson County District Attorney’s Office to launch an investigation.
“We will be assisting both offices in this investigation,” Hillhouse said.
Miller was arraigned and is being held on a $75,000 bond.
Miller had worked for the Henderson County Jail for just over a year before his terminated.
