HOLIDAY GIVING: Jacksonville Animal Shelter waiving adoption fee with donation of canned foods

Looking to give a pet a forever home? Bring four canned donations (for people, not pets) to the Jacksonville Animal Shelter and the adoption fee will be waived.

JACKSONVILLE, Texas — It's the holiday season and many of our furry friends are wanting a place to call home. The Jacksonville Animal Shelter is doing something special in hopes to give their animals a home for the holidays.

The Jacksonville Animal Shelter is having a holiday adoption special this Wednesday, November 20 through Friday, December 13. With a donation of four canned foods (for people, not pets) the shelter will waive adoption fees.

"We're not only helping get our dogs a home for the holidays," Jacksonville Animal Shelter Supervisor Gary Grimes said. "We're helping people get food for the holidays that wouldn't normally have meals."

Canned foods are donated locally to The Clothes Closet & More.

According to Grimes, there are currently around 13 dogs and 10 cats available for adoption.
