UPDATE: City of Kilgore rescinds boil water notice

The equipment has been repaired.

KILGORE, Texas — The City of Kilgore has rescinded a boil water notice following low disinfectant residuals caused by a failure in the city's chemical feed equipment.

The equipment has been repaired and crews flushed the system to increase the disinfectant residual.

"The city has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of January 3, 2022," the city said in a statement.
