LIST: Food, water distribution sites in the Houston area

Many are in need as they wait for repairs to their homes and properties.

HOUSTON — Many Houston-area residents remain without adequate water supply due to boil water notices or repairs needed on their properties. There are also those in need of food.

In an effort to help those in need, local officials and advocates have hosted food and water distribution sites in several counties around our region.

CrowdSource is gathering volunteers to make no-contact food deliveries to people without transportation. If you need food or want to volunteer for deliveries, click here.

Bread of Life Inc. provides healthy food every Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. John's Downtown (2019 Crawford St, Houston, 77002)

Relief Gang Disaster Assistance

The Relief Gang has a request form on their Instagram page for people that need plumbing assistance. They're asking that you fill out the form as much as possible, and they'll reach out you if they can send a plumber to help.

Plumbing Assistance 

Rebuilding Together Houston is helping low-income veterans in Houston get water in their homes. For emergency plumbing repairs, email intake@rebuildinghouston.org or call 713-659-2511.

Non-veterans in Houston and unincorporated Harris County can go to this Connective survey to get help with busted pipes. People without internet can call The Alliance at 346-396-6903.

Saturday Distribution Site

Missouri City Food & PPE

The American Caribbean Chamber of Commerce will have a drive-thru distribution at 11 a.m. on Saturday. They'll provide hot meals and free testing for COVID-19 & HIV on a first-come, first-served basis. You have to register first.

Houston Food Distribution

March For Our Lives Houston is working with their partners for a drive-thru food distribution. They will also have items available for walk-up requests. They will be available from noon - 3 p.m.

Saturday Distribution Site

Houston Food Distribution

Avenue 360 will have a free drive-thru event starting at 10 a.m.

Vegan Food Event

Choreographer Blacka Di Danca is leading a vegan food distribution at the Joseph House Community Outreach Center. The event will include vegan chili dogs from Good Dog Houston and rice & veggie dishes from Mojo Meal Preps. They'll be available from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Sunday Distribution Site

Hygiene Kit Distribution

Islamic Relief USA is working Amaanah Refugee Services to distribution hygiene kits and face masks. They will also have gift cards, fresh produce and 1,000 bottles of water.

Vida City Church

Convoy of Hope will have food and water available starting at 8 a.m. They'll be available at Vida City Church until their supplies are gone.

Pet Food

The Houston Humane Society is partnering with Fort Bend County for a Pet Pantry Event. The drive-thru will provide free pet food, supplies, and information for other resources. They'll be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Houston Water Distribution

Business leader Jay Bradley is launching the first phase of his Winter Storm Relief Initiative. He will be distributing water to local residents from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Stafford Food & Water Distribution

Congressman Al Green is hosting a distribution starting at 12 p.m. There will be enough food and water available for the first 500 families. The event is not restricted to the zip code.

Friday Distribution Sites

Magnolia Center Drive-Thru

The City of Houston Department of Neighborhoods will distribute bottled water (drive-thru only) starting at 9 a.m.

Montgomery County

The Montgomery County Food Bank will have a food distribution at Nelson's Pools. They'll be open from 9 a.m. until all supplies are gone.

Thirteen Restaurant Clothing Giveaway

James Harden, Thirteen Restaurant and Adidas will host a drive-thru distribution from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. They will have Adidas jackets, shoes, pants and shirts for all ages, with multiple sizes for kids and adults. There will be two-item limit per person and all recipients have to be there to get their items.

Houston Water Distribution

Change Happens! will have bottled water to give away starting at 2 p.m.

Tuesday Distribution Site

Shape Community Center

Houston-native and Brooklyn Nets Center DeAndre Jordan funded a drive-thru food & water distribution for the Third Ward. The event will open at 12 p.m. and continue while supplies last.

Sunday distribution sites

District F Distribution

The Office of Council Member Tiffany Thomas will lead a food & water distribution starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday. Supplies will be given on a first come, first served basis.

NACC Distribution

NACC Disaster Services is partnering with the City of Houston, the Teamsters union and AFL-CIO for a drive-thru distribution. They will provide food, water, meal kits, pillows and cups starting at 1 p.m. on Sunday. They'll be open while supplies last.

Sugar Land

The Sugar Land Skeeters are hosting drive-thru food giveaway through The Alliance. They'll give out food, water and PPE starting at 2 p.m.

Location: B-Lot at Constellation Field (1 Stadium Dr, Sugar Land, 77498)

Dawoodi Bohras of Houston

The Dawoodi Bohra community will have hot meals and water available from 2 p.m.- 5 p.m.

Location: Finnigan Park (4900 Providence St, Houston, 77020)

Pop-Up Kitchen

Councilmember Thomas will also join Councilmember Letitia Plummer and Jersey Village Mayor Andrew Mitcham for another distribution at 3 p.m.

Location: Greater Mt. Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church (3202 Blanco St, Houston, 77063)

Saturday distribution sites

WHAM Food Fair

West Houston Assistance Ministries will end the week with with a food fair on Saturday from 9 a.m.- noon.

Location: Church at the Cross (3835 S Dairy Ashford Rd, Houston, 77082)

Houston ISD Food Distribution

Nutrition Services will be providing student meals, family food boxes and other household items. Families can pick up supplies from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the following supersites:

  • Almeda Elementary School (14226 Almeda School Rd, 77047)
  • Butler Stadium (13755 South Main, 77037)
  • M.C. Williams Middle School (6100 Knox St, 77091)
  • Sugar Grove Academy (8405 Bonhomme Rd, 77074)
  • Hattie Mae White Educational Support Center (4400 W 18th St, 77092)
  • Hexser T. Holliday Food Services Support Center (Bennington St, 77028)

Houston Rockets & Operation BBQ Relief

The Rockets and the Fertitta Family will be working with Operation BBQ Relief for a drive-thru food & water distribution. They'll start at 11 a.m. and will continue while supplies last.

Location: Toyota Center's Tundra Garage (1515 Leeland St). Drive up to the 3rd floor to pick up supplies.

Friday distribution sites

West Houston Assistance Ministries

The West Houston Ministries have been hosting daily drive-thru food distributions every day this week starting at 9 a.m. Friday is their last day and they're hoping to feed up to 250 families.

Location: 10501 Meadowglen Ln, Houston, 77042

Northwest Mall (Tuesday - Friday)

The city of Houston in collaboration with several organizations, including CrowdSource Rescue and Operation BBQ Relief, will be servicing hot meals beginning at 10:30 a.m. at Northwest Mall located at 9500 Hempstead Road.

It will continue until supply runs out.

The organizations plan to serve meals at this location through Friday, February 26, should weather permit.

Praise Chapel Houston

The chapel is working with Operation Compassion to provide water & household goods (non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies, diapers, etc.) from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. (or while supplies last)

Hispanic Star Emergency Relief

Hispanic Star local hubs are distributing food & supplies across Texas. The hubs will be available on Friday in Pasadena, Galena Park, and Houston.

  • Drive #1: 911 Harris Ave, Pasadena, 77506, 10 a.m.- noon
  • Drive #2: 1302 Keene St, Galena Park, 77547, 5 p.m.- 7 p.m.
  • Drive #3: Mexico Consulate (4506 Caroline St, Houston, 77004), Time TBD

Common Market Texas & World Central Kitchen

The nonprofits are co-hosting food distributions on Friday & Saturday. Their boxes will be filled with food from Texas farms.

Friday location: Julia C Hester House (2020 Solo St, Houston, 77020), starts at 12 p.m.

Saturday location: HOPE Clinic - Alief Community Health Center (14438 Bellaire Blvd, Houston, 77083), starts at 8 a.m.

Thursday distribution sites

Texas Can Academies in Houston North

Houston North is hosting Houston Food Bank's School Market mobile on their campus parking lot from 1 p.m.-4 p.m. or until all of their food is gone

Fifth Ward Relief

Houston rapper/activist Trae tha Truth is teaming up with CrowdSource, Texas Relief Warriors and other to distribute water & hot meals at 3 p.m.

Wednesday distribution sites

The Fort Bend Church in Sugar Land

In partnership with the city of Houston, the Fort Bend Church is hosting a water distribution drive from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Location: The Fort Bend Church at 1900 Eldridge Rd., Sugar Land, 77478

Missouri City

The city is holding a few water distribution sites at 3 p.m. while supplies last - first-come, first-served.

  • City Hall Complex: 1522 Texas Parkway
  • Fire Station 2: 12043 McLain Blvd.
  • First United Methodist Church: 3900 Lexington Blvd

Tuesday distribution sites

La Porte ISD and The Common Market

La Porte ISD and The Common Market are handing out 500 boxes of fresh local produce beginning at 1 p.m. at the La Porte ISd Support Service Center located at 2015 Sens Rd. 

Houston Rockets and Mayor Turner at Toyota Center

Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Rockets owner Tilman J. Fertitta and Rockets Head Coach Stephen Silas are partnering to provide a drive thru water distribution.

This event is from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Cars should line up on Jackson Street and follow police and staff directions for distribution.

Houston Food Bank at NRG Stadium

Houston Food Bank will have a drive-thru food distribution event from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at NRG stadium. Unfortunately, walk-ups are not allowed. They'll be handing out both food and water.

The distribution will take place in the Blue Lot, Gate 9 at NRG Stadium, 8510 Kirby Dr. Gates will open at 7 a.m. (Traffic lined up prior to 7 a.m. will be asked to keep moving.)

Pet food

There are at least two places where you can find pet food this week.

The Houston Humane Society will host a pet food distribution event on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Brazoria County Courthouse in Angleton.

The organization will host a second drive-thru pet food distribution event from 10 a.m. until noon on Friday at the Four Corners Community Center in Sugar Land.
