Longview Police encourage people to start neighborhood crime watch groups

In anticipation of National Night Out in August, the Longview Police Department is encouraging people to meet their neighbors and form neighborhood watch groups.

LONGVIEW — Longview Police are encouraging communities to come together and create neighborhood watch groups. Right now police officers say crime is down in the city and creating a watch group will help to prevent future crime.

In order to create a watch group, all you have to do is contact your local police department. They will give you the information you need to set it up.

Police officers also want to remind neighborhood watch groups to not intervene in any crimes. Contact their police department to handle the situation.
