LUFKIN, Texas — A Lufkin man is accused of kidnapping a woman and sexually assaulting her.

According to the Lufkin Police Department, around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday police received a report of a woman who had been sexually assaulted.

The woman said she knew the suspect as “Mon,” her previous neighbor. Authorities later identified “Mon” as 30-year-old Zataymon Skinner, of Lufkin.

Authorities say the woman was leaving her job at a fast food restaurant around 12:30 a.m. when she noticed the man standing at her car.

The woman said he told her “get in or I’ll kill you.” Skinner then allegedly drove her to a dead end in the 2100 block of Wood Avenue.

She said Skinner then forced her out of the car, sexually assaulted her and placed her inside the trunk. As he began to drive away, she managed to open the trunk and escape.

The woman said Skinner noticed and stopped the vehicle and began to chase her, but then got back in the vehicle and drove away.

Around 11 a.m. Saturday, Lufkin PD responded to a disturbance at 402 Holland Street in which a man named “Mon” had fled. He attempted to runaway leading police on a chase.

Skinner was taken into custody for evading arrest, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated sexual assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was also found to have a parole violation and a Smith County warrant for theft.

Authorities have not yet located the stolen vehicle which is a red 2006 Ford Fusion with handicap license plate DVU2L4.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen vehicle is asked to call the police department at 936-633-0356.
