Carlos Valerio of National Geographic Traveler and Texas Park and Wildlife's Thomas Wilhelm and Erin Freiboth took a tour of Marshall on Thursday.
According to the City, Valerio's visit to Marshall is part of a four day tour of East Texas for a piece about State Parks and Historic Communities.
Marshal was chosen to get some one-on-one time through a partnership with the Texas Forest Trail who's been collaborating with the Governor's office of Tourism to show the best of East Texas.
The tour began with breakfast in downtown Marshall, followed by a walk through the historic parts of the area, like the Michelson Museum of Art, Paramount Theater and the Texas and Pacific Railway Depot.
Once complete, the National Geographic Traveler piece will include information on 8 chosen destinations in East Texas, plus Valerio's own self-exploration of the region.
