GILMER, Texas — Officials have secured the area after a major gas leak was reported in Gilmer.
According to Gilmer Fire and Rescue, the leak occurred near Bradford Street and Madelaine Street.
The intersection at Bradford Street and Madelaine Street will be closed as crews continue to work on repairs.
Officials say residents in the area can return home. Those evacuated were sent to the Gilmer Civic Center.
An estimated time for repairs to be completed is unknown.
