One arrested after ETX school receives clown threat

Grand Saline ISD is the latest in a series of schools receiving 'killer clown' threats via social media.

The Grand Saline Police Department arrested one person in connection with the clown threat made toward the high school through social media Tuesday morning.

Grand Saline Police Chief Justin Collins said a 14-year-old was arrested for terroristic threat and sent to the juvenile attention center.

Collins told CBS 19 the threat was made around 10:30 Monday night on the student's Instagram account.

Grand Saline ISD released the following statement:

"Grand Saline ISD parents and community, Grand Saline Police Department has arrested the individual responsible for the social media threats. We will continue to be on heightened awareness as the state and country continue to experience similar hoaxes. Thank you for your patience and for allowing us to educate your children."

This morning Grand Saline High School received a threat that a clown will shoot up the school. The Grand Saline Police department too the threat very seriously, stating in a Facebook post:

"The social media threats made against our schools are being investigated. Police are present on campus. We are being assisted by the Van Zandt Sheriff's Department and State Police."

Chief Collins said "this will not be tolerated and we take this clown stuff very serious" The Juvenile will have a up coming court day soon.

Marshall and Van ISD schools recently received similar threats.
