OVERTON, Texas — The City of Overton has rescinded the boil water notice that went into effect on September 5. 

The city issued the notice as crews worked to repair a 10'' water main break.

The break happened on Highway 850 East.

According to the city, Public Works Department has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use
