Panola County records 4th COVID-19 case

PANOLA COUNTY, Texas — Panola County has been notified of a fourth confirmed COVID-19 case, Judge LeeAnn Jones said Thursday morning.

Jones said the person is at home and quarantined. No other details were immediately known.

As of Wednesday, April 2, at 9:45 a.m., there are 122 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in East Texas.

  • Henderson County - 1
  • Hopkins County - 3
  • Morris County - 1
  • Nacogdoches County - 6
  • Panola County - 4
  • Polk County - 5
  • Rusk County - 6
  • San Augustine County - 1
  • Shelby County - 4
  • Smith County - 47, 1 death
  • Upshur County - 2
  • Van Zandt County - 3, 1 death
  • Wood County - 1

The CDC recommends the following to help protect yourself:

  1. Washing hands
  2. Avoid close contact
  3. Distance self between other people
  4. Stay home
  5. Cover mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing
  6. Throw away used tissues
