The Smith County Sheriff's Department is searching for a male suspect they say committed two robberies during the first few days in December.

According to authorities, the suspect entered the AZ Food Mart in the 11300 block of Highway 69 North on Dec. 1 at around 11 p.m. and robbed the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect was wearing a black pullover sweatshirt with "Gold's Gym" printed on the front, a dark bandana over his face, light blue jeans and square-toed cowboy boots.

Authorities say the same suspect robbed the AB Country Store located in the 18500 block of Farm-to-Market Road 14 near Red Springs on Dec. 3 around 6:15 p.m..

He is described as about 6 feet tall with a slender-to-medium build, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, and reportedly driving a late '90s model silver Toyota Tacoma 4x4 pickup, single cab.
